Material and Manufacturing:
- Original chocks are typically manufactured from cast steel or gray cast iron, with carbon content ranging from 0.2% to 0.3%. Minor welding repairs are possible for cast iron chocks, but major repairs are not feasible due to the extensive welding material required

Stress Analysis and Optimization:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the stress distribution within chocks, which helps in optimizing their design for improved service life and load-bearing capacity. Studies have shown that chocks made from certain materials, such as CA6NM, can produce significantly less deformation and equivalent stress compared to those made from gray cast iron
