Wear Plates are components used in molds to protect the mold from wear and tear caused by the molding process.
They are typically made of durable materials such as steel or aluminum and are placed in areas of the mold that are subject to high levels of friction or impact.
The wear plates act as a sacrificial layer, absorbing the wear and tear that would otherwise damage the mold itself. By using wear plates, mold maintenance costs can be reduced and the lifespan of the mold can be extended.
